About Team Kalpana
Team Kalpana is a conglomerate of highly motivated and dedicated students. Based on our 4 core beliefs Passion, Perseverance, Design Innovation, and Motivation, we are a team of highly-dedicated students encompassing all engineering and science fields. We believe our dedication and prior hands-on experience with model aerodynamic systems and electronics will help us carve a niche for ourselves in the competition. With ambition, resilience, confidence and team spirit, we wish to represent our country at other such International Competitions.
Learning
CanSat Competition offered us a chance to gain substantial experience, showcase skills, analyse and evaluate outcomes and uncover personal aptitude. It encouraged us to adopt innovative techniques and develop new ideas and skills. We got a very rare opportunity of experiencing an actual rocket launch and understand the design and launch specifications of a satellite. This competition excelled in providing such exposure and realistic outlook towards the competitive nature of real life in such a short span of time, which could not have happened in our average college lives.
CANSAT
The CanSat Competition is a prestigious design-build fly competition organized by The American Astronautical Society (AAS) and NASA that provides teams from across the globe with an opportunity to experience the design life-cycle of an aerospace system. It involves simulation of a real satellite, integrated within the volume and shape of a softdrink Can. The challenge is to fit all the major subsystems found in a satellite, such as power, sensors ans communication system, into this minimal volume .
